Brittany Cooper is an Associate Attorney with Degan, Blanchard & Nash. She received her B.A. in Political Science with a Concentration in American Politics from University of Pennsylvania before completing her J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law. Ms. Cooper is a litigation attorney with significant skills, education, and experience in insurance defense, federal and state appellate practice, workers’ compensation toxic torts (e.g., pharmaceuticals, benzene, and mold), products liability, medical malpractice, personal injury, and fraudulent suits.
She has over four years’ experience as first-chair trial attorney in workers’ compensation and civil suits and has substantial experience handling all aspects of trial-level litigation, including expert and lay witness depositions, written and electronic discovery, motion practice, client communications and negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation and presentation. Ms. Cooper has demonstrated aptitude in appellate practice, as shown by a track record of appellate victories in the federal Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and in the Louisiana First, Fourth, and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeal. She is deeply committed to providing high-quality work product that is designed to simultaneously suit the needs of the client and firm.
Ms. Cooper is admitted to practice in all state courts in Louisiana and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, Jefferson Bar Association, Louisiana Association for Justice, and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel.
